Where your attention goes, energy flows…

You might have heard the saying, where your attention goes, energy flows.  This is the premise of a Yoga practice: focusing your mind on one thing at a time.  With continued focus, that thing grows.   What we choose to do every day should indicate what is valuable to us but how often do we do things and then wonder why we are doing it and where our time went?   Just to be clear, I am not talking about the challenges of life that come our way that we have to focus on even when we would rather not. Freedom through practice

Freedom and Focus

Happy July! I hope you are doing well and enjoying the energy of summer. As we move into the holiday weekend, I am using my practice to be really mindful of everything I do so that I can relax because a focused mind is a relaxed mind. The more conscious and mindful we are about what we are doing, the more time seems to slow down. Freedom

Happy July! With the 4th of July coming up this weekend, I have been thinking a lot about Freedom and what it means to me. The 4th and final chapter of Yoga Sutras, the handbook for the Philosophy of Yoga, is about freedom (or kaivalya) which is said to be the ultimate result of a dedicated yoga practice. Freedom can be recognized and defined in so many ways and it is completely individual.
