What brought you to Los Angeles? My husband was splitting his time between Vancouver and Los Angeles and we finally decided that it make the most sense for us to make the big move to L.A.
I remember as I was packing up boxes and going through stuff that I came across a journal from when I was about 16 years old. Leafing through the pages I came across multiple entries about how much I wanted to move to California. So, even though it may have been Rich’s career that brought us here, I was very much invested in the move and in making a home for us in California.
Our 5 year anniversary of living in L.A. is actually July 1st! (Yes, that means I am a terrible Canadian as July 1st is Canada day, kind of like our 4th of July, and that’s the day I left! We still celebrate Canada Day though, along with 4th of July, of course!)
My favorite things about about LA: Amazing fresh, organic, vegan restaurants and some of the best farmers markets anywhere! I also would be remiss if I didn’t mention the amazing community at Yoga Blend.
In the year ahead, I’m really looking forward to… I’m pregnant right now, so I’m most looking forward to meeting this little person I’m growing. It’s been an incredible journey already and it’s just begun!
If I were an animal I’d be… My friend Chrissy calls me Dolphin, and I think I would make a pretty rad one.
Childhood ambition?: I really wanted to go to Space Camp. Or be a Fashion Designer.
Most memorable thing I did in the last 12 months: I travelled to England, Scotland and France in the Spring and loved every second of it! The food, the people, the sights, the vibe. I felt an affinity for the monarchy that I hadn’t noticed before. It must have been all of those years of singing “God Save the Queen” at school assemblies when i was growing up.
Proudest achievement: My decision 5½ years ago to live a vegan life. It’s been one of the best things I’ve ever done in my life and has brought me such tremendous peace and joy.
