Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!  As we move into a new year, it is a great time to set intentions and begin to organize ourselves to bring those intentions to life in the coming months.

Rather than setting resolutions this year, I have decided to set New Year’s Creations.  I feel like I have been resolving things for so long that I am ready to ease up on my resolve and consciously create instead.

I think for many of us, life can seem to be a series of challenges and obstacles to overcome.  Obstacles are a part of life indeed, but when that is all we focus on, it is easy to forget that we also have the ability to create something new.

When I think of creating something, there is a softness that follows.  I get excited rather than overwhelmed.  I feel more motivated to act towards creating something I want rather than resolving something that I don’t.

I’ve been thinking of my yoga practice in the same way.  I am creating an experience in my mind, my body and my breath.  There is no resolution.  There is no determination.  There is no struggle.  It is, however, an opportunity to slow down and be with what is while gently and patiently extending my edge.  Not by pushing or forcing, but by opening up to a new moment of possibility instead.

So as the New Year begins to unfold, what is it that you want to create?  Perhaps it is more loving relationships or a better understanding of how food can nurture and support you or maybe it is to write that book you’ve been talking about for years.  You are a creator.  We all are.  It is up to us to create our experience.  Yes, there will be obstacles along the way, but rather than seeing them as something to be resolved, perhaps you can see them as opportunities to develop resilience while making your creation even more beautiful, more uplifting and more you!

Thank you for being a part of Yoga Blend and my life…I am so grateful.  I look forward to creating another year of yoga, community, learning, and inspiration with you!

With infinite love and gratitude…
Namaste,
Christy
