Change

Happy October! I hope you are doing well and enjoying the transition into Fall!

I just arrived back home to Nashville after 2 1/2 weeks and am in awe of the changes that have occurred in such a short amount of time. The weather is getting cooler and the air more crisp, the nights are growing longer, the leaves are turning vibrant colors and falling to the ground. As I was looking around appreciating the changes, I started thinking about the famous quote, “the only constant in life is change.”

Some people like change and embrace it with a sense of adventure. Others fear it and have a hard time navigating the unknown. We can never be sure what the change will look like, but we know for sure that it is coming. It is a lot easier to navigate when we have some time to prepare but often times change occurs when we least expect it.

One of the many gifts of a yoga practice is the ability to adapt to change. We learn how to breathe calmly as we move through a challenging pose. We practice balancing as our weight distribution changes. We learn to remain focused and calm as we turn ourselves upside down. We practice turning our attention inward, so that we can find the answers we seek inside. Over time, we can learn to remain at peace in this ever-changing world.

Just as nature is always changing, so are our lives. The best way to navigate this constant movement of life is through a practice where we consciously put ourselves in unusual situations and learn to adapt with as much grace as we can despite the discomfort that may come along with it. The reward is worth the effort…every time.

We love offering ways to support you in your practice through workshops, classes, events, retreats, trainings, etc. So, please check out all we have coming up here.
