Autumn Equinox & Libra New Moon

Welcome to Autumn!bekah200

As I write this, the earth is nearly aligned between light and dark, as she does twice a year. This is a time for reflection, gratitude and re-commitment to the goals we set in the spring, assuming those goals are still true for you.

Tomorrow, we have a new moon in Libra, one of the signs ruled by the Goddess Venus and having the new lunar cycle begin so close to the new solar season is pretty potent. There is an amplified call to examine relationships, with self, other and nature, and to re-turn to a heart-centered, compassionate way of living and being in this world.

This season and cycle promise lots of change as Pluto become direct, Mercury goes retrograde and October offers an eclipse portal between the new and full moons. I hope we can all use the next two weeks as the Libra cycle waxes to find that center and stay there, even as we tilt towards transformation and a dissolution of the year and the old structures that have been falling around us for all of 2014.

My prayer is to stay in my practices, such as yoga, shamanism, nature, and close to my family, community and guides. Remember what is important and ask for support, be willing to surrender, to be of service and to stand in your authenticity.

I find myself in a new place, one where I don’t really know what I want, except that I want to live in love and in peace and create a world that upholds these ideals. It is a weird place to be, but also sweet, simple and yielding to the call of the mystery.

Take care of yourself in these weeks, rest in gratitude and I would love to see you at Yoga Blend for the upcoming Fall Equinox workshop or our annual Chakra Retreat in Joshua Tree (Oct 2nd – 5th). I am also offering private sessions right now and this cycle is a great time for divination or healing work.
